Art & Design
Providing information and products to people interested in mermaids, mermaid art and mermaid related things
What's your vision?
A book cover for a coffee-table book - 12 x 12 inches, about 3/4 inch thick (about 185 pages). The book is primarily about mermaid statues all over the world, with high quality photos on almost every page. The name of the book will most likely be "Mermaids of Earth" or "Mermaid Statues of Earth". A subtitle might be something like "Mermaid statues from all across our planet." I'm hoping it is possible to clearly convey that the book is about more than just one mermaid statue. I'm not sure how to achieve this, but that's why I am doing this contest.
The mermaidsofearth.com website has a lot of information and images that may be useful. Most of the images on the site can be supplied for the artwork in high resolution if that helps. The book cover should clearly communicate the level of art represented in the book, and make it clear that the book contains photos of and information about mermaid statues. It should not in any way be Disney-like or cartoonish, and should not be trying to hide the nudity of mermaid statues. The cover should contribute to the aesthetics of the book and the art represented in the book. Many of the 150+ statues in the book are fabulous works of art and are loved by those who know about them. See the attached for some of the early pages of content in the book.
