Ivan is a great artist, I couldn’t be happier with his work!
His design was actually the first I received regarding my cover contest and I knew the instance I saw it that it’s going to win (which made me feel kind of awkward since many other people put so much work into my project). It was clear to me that he read my briefing very carefully and put a lot of thought into how he could convey the atmosphere I was aiming at. The result for me was mind blowing… I’m looking forward to work with him again.
Great work, and responsive as well
- Kristin Designs
I was extremely satisfied with the entire design process carried out by Kristin Designs. She was very easy to work with and most flexible in my design requests. Kristin is very talented and creative and was able to see my vision as I explained what I was looking for in my book cover design. She had a very willing and helpful attitude, which made the whole process easier for me and I appreciated her willingness to make corrections, which she attended to right away. I’d highly recommend this designer and look forward to working with her on other projects in the future.
I love the Style of tale026 here artwork. Always surprising with something New.

Title: Look Away
Genre: Modern Southern Literature
– Jack - white 30 year old male who grew up in the south is arrested for the murder of a black man he didn’t commit.
- Kenesha - African American female public defender is his defense attorney in the case
-the murder is a set-up by some drug dealers…
-the defense by a black public defender is actually a set-up by the Mayor and City Manager who are afraid the trial will turn into a racial battlefield and destroy the town.
Some Sub plots / Scenes throughout the book –
- Riot between the NAACP and the KKK
- An inside view of the very lucrative and illegal cock-fighting industry in south Georgia and Alabama
- An inside view of the Crack trade in a Southern city
-The underlying subplot is the totally unlikely, and culturally unacceptable romance that blossoms between Jack & Kenesha (he’s white, she’s black) as they are thrust into one anothers lives…
In the end the Romance doesn’t work (primarily because of outside pressures) and the reader is left with the question of whether it is possible for an interracial relationship to take place in the deep south, which, even today is very much still ‘the Old South” in many ways…
A Cover Idea I had –
Jack and Kenesha back to back - “looking away” from one another, surrounded by fuzzy images of the Klan, cockfighting, courtrooms, NAACP marches, etc…
I would like a book cover design that I can use on line for Kindle direct publishing, but also use if I have the book actually printed in hard copy. Thanks!
