wwmelchior got their new book cover by running a design contest:
clean and classic Christmas in coastal Maine romance for women
Check out wwmelchior's Book cover contest…
W. Stewart lives in a fun-filled house near Philadelphia with her husband and children. Between the six of them, there is a golfer, a golfer, a golfer, a golfer, a painter, and a writer.
RECLAIMING CHRISTMAS is woman who struggled with a childhood illness for many years. As a result, she has kept her past - her family, her hometown, her old flame - at arms length because the memories she associates with them are painful. When a colleague gives her a newspaper article about Newberry, Maine, the town where she grew up, she searches for the childhood Christmas journals that she wrote from a hospital bed years ago. Reading them creates a desire to reclaim all the moments she missed out on, the Christmas activities and traditions, but ends up leading her down a path of self-discovery, reconciliation, and love. THERE IS A LIGHTHOUSE (think coastal Maine). There is also a quirky town square Christmas tree made from lobster traps stacked on top of each other. See PDF I attached.

Other color requirements
CHRISTMAS - snow, traditional colors. The only other thought I had to make it stand out from the crowded market is to make it monochromatic, all whites and silvers (perhaps one of the handblown glass ornaments? An angel?) with a single red Christmas bow that grabs the buyer's attention. I am feeling this idea more and more
It all began with a design brief.

And then… they selected a winner!
Susan's outstanding communication made what could have been a stressful situation very easy! Her vision was perfect for my project. She was a pleasure to work with and I highly recommend her!
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
We think contests are a super fun way to get design.
