The Life Story Guide is an eBook that helps people write their life story. The primary feature of the eBook is more than 100 pages of prompts & questions to help you recall the details of your life. It's key selling point is that it is practical rather than theoretical, and gets you writing straight away.
What's your vision?
An eBook cover is required for 'The Life Story Guide', an eBook that provides you with all the tools you need to write your own life story. The eBook will be published on the Amazon Kindle platform and will also be distributed more broadly in ePub format (eg. via Google Play) and as a PDF via own website. The cover should support all of these formats. According to Amazon's Kindle guidelines, the cover should be a JPG with recommended 2500 pixels on the longest side, with the ideal image height/width ratio of 1:6. The target audience is old enough to be interested in writing a life story, between 60 - 80. A secondary (or possibly primary) audience is adult children of the proposed life story writer who would buy the eBook as a gift for their parent. The target audience is intelligent, well read and tech literate (ie. not your stereotypical granny). The cover design should appeal to well-read older individuals and look like a credible guide that you might find in the new Non-Fiction section at Borders. The writing style in the book is personal and approachable, but has more depth than many 'how to' guides in this genre. The design should avoid images of sepia toned photographs, quill pens and leather-bound journals. Also avoid cartoons and humour. The look should be crisp, modern & bold but retain a sense of being a 'classic' guide that has been around forever. A white background may be appropriate, but the priority is a clean look. The current website www.thelifestoryguide.com includes an image of an older woman, which will be replaced by the cover image designed here. There is no need to include images of people in the cover design, although this is also optional. The Cover Copy should include: Title: The Life Story Guide Subtext: Start Writing Your Life Story Today Additional text: Over 2000 prompts, questions and topics to help you recall the details of your life.
