Hey guys, I have a book on the president of Afghanistan - Hamid Karzai - and I will publish in August.
It's about Hamid Karzai, and how he came to power after 09/11. It's a road-movie story, actually, very easy to read. IT is like the Motor Cycle Diaries.. Hamid Karzai took the motor cycle after 09/11 and went on his own from Pakistan into dangerous Afghanistan, where he tried to take the power from the Taliban. Nobody knows this story about him, and that makes it even more attractive. The accessibility is great, and it makes this complex new world better to understand.
The book is already out in Holland, where it did very well. The cover was boring, though. For now, we translated it in English and will publish it.
About the cover: I know it's an Afghanistan-book, and dessert, mountains, burka's, turbans are probably the first things that comes to mind.. but that's ok, if you can design in an original way.
I ad some ideas to this assignment. U can think of using a road, a motor cycle, or maybe Karzai's hat and his typical cape (google him and you will see it ) I ad also the synopsis, so you can read the story.
The title will be 'A man and a Motor Cycle'. Subtitle: How Hamid Karzai came to power. That's good to know for a start :) But it might become 'Karzai's Motor Cycle Diaries' as well
I might be liking a sketch of Hamid Karzai maybe, in pencil, without much colour and very rough? Black and White? Or maybe something much more art-like? See this?
Or a portrait? See this beautiful Karl Marx - one http://en.99designs.nl/x/aHR0cDovL2…JsLW1hcngv
Ow, I forgot to say: I am not a Karzai-hater, or lover. It's a very non-fiction journalism book, where I reconstruct his way to power, based on interviews with him, and 150 of the people around him.
