The 10 Billion Tree Tsunami - How Pakistan Is Fighting Against Climate Change and What the World Can Learn from It
From victim to trailblazer: Pakistan is showing how developing nations can overcome adversity and pave their own path to prosperity Record-high temperatures, droughts, flooding, and extreme weather… These are just some of the destructive effects of climate change that Pakistan has to face regularly. Even though Pakistan contributes less than 1% of the world’s carbon emissions, it’s one of the nations that suffers the most from its effects. Climate change has caused illnesses, deaths, and food and water shortages, as well as displacement and financial losses in the country. And all this is happening while it’s still a third world nation that’s trying to industrialize. With all these stacked against them, Pakistan is fighting back. It has launched environmental programs that incentivize clean energy and is focusing on solutions that not only address its ecological concerns, but also its economic ones. It’s living proof that building up your economy and protecting your environment don’t have to be diametrically opposed. In fact, Pakistan is showing just how critical one is for the other. In 10 Billion Tree Tsunami, you will discover: ● How Pakistan is solving two of its most pressing problems with this widely praised green initiative ● How this still-developing country plans to sustain its economic growth while reducing its carbon emissions ● International recognition for Pakistan’s 10 billion tree tsunami program, including a tweet from one unexpected supporter ● Groundbreaking ideas and practices from Pakistan that the rest of world should follow And much more. The fact that Pakistan is taking responsibility in tackling carbon emissions, even though it’s not responsible for most of it, shows that they’re not willing to wait around for someone else to solve their problems. Other nations have much to learn from Pakistan’s initiatives – and from the perseverance of its people.
● Environmentalist, concerned about climate change and sustainability ● Pakistani expat community ● Practices sustainable habits – recycling, shopping secondhand, composting, zero waste, etc. ● Interested in learning more about what can be done on a larger scale to combat climate change ● Aged 25 to 45 ● Professionals, working white collar jobs ● Have young families or are thinking of starting a family
I am not a big fan of stock pictures or pictures designs. I like illustration design. However if you can make picture design work with a lot of effect I will be open. I was thinking of a White snow-capped mountains and on its base a tree tusnami coming ones way with some dust towards the one observing the cover. Green and White are Pakistan flag colors. So any picture of Tsunami coming one way (not a side pic, but frontal pic) of trees coming from the mountains with dust effect like doomsday could be good. The other option is doing illustration design and if you can come up with something really nice and creative I can also go for. The design has to be unique and stand out. My preference of the background color would be green (or shades of green).
What to avoid
Please dont take stock pictures and some illustrations and put something together. Creativee and simple design that is as close to the title and subtitle will win. A design that when one looks at it leaves the viewer with one interpretation is what I am looking for.
