•General guidelines here: http://thewritersguidetoepublishing…-cover-art
Note how this art differs from a traditional book cover, which tries to get attention sitting bookstore shelf. In online listings (example: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref, the thumbnail is all you can put out there to attract attention and (hopefully) a click. Some advice I've found is to use a big, nonserif fonts and an image that conveys well in a small format.
It's more or less the same front-cover image as the e-book cover, just at a resolution suitable for a digital color press and adjusted to Amazon's specs below.
Amazon provides a template that might be easy for you to work with: https://www.createspace.com/Help/Book/Artwork.do

•5 x 8" front, 5 x 8" back, .2375 spine width, and .125" bleed
•Centered horizontally and vertically
•Minimum Cover Width: 10.4875 including bleed
•Minimum Cover Height: 8.25 including bleed
More or less the same as the Paperback Cover.

Here is what Amazon says: https://www.acx.com/help/rights-hol…-art-specs
It looks like the front cover is all they allow - no spine, no inside material. I guess they ship just the CD in a sleeve or something.
