Art & Design
I'm looking for a cover, spine and back design for a science fiction novel that will be published in both print and ebook format. I want it to evoke a sense of mystery, fear, and unease. The main themes include genetic manipulation, conspiracy, fugitives, family, and identity.
What's your vision?
Title: The Quiet Echo Author: C.E. Smithers Series: Remnants Book One Please feel free to be creative with fonts and colors, although the colors should fit in with those I preference below. Blurb: Nora’s death warrant was signed the day she was born. She is an Echo, gifted with strength and speed beyond human capability, her senses enhanced, her body strong and unyielding. But the revelation of long-hidden family secrets sets Nora on a dangerous path where even her abilities may not be able to save her. Renee and Nora knew each other as children before the events of one tragic night sent Renee away for twelve years. Now a young woman, she knows what Nora is and won’t stop until she’s been exposed. But vengeance is blinding and Renee has more to lose than she knows. Grace, a geneticist with secrets of her own, is trying to save humanity, risking her career and her life in the process. But even her best intentions may lead to a danger beyond her control. As these three women converge, the safest of places for Nora will hold the greatest dangers. The new Humanity is coming and all it’s waiting on is Nora. The world is about to change. Elements I would like to see: • A dark background, think navy blue that starts off slightly lighter at the top and is almost black at the bottom. • The outline of a set of eyes in electric blue that are glowing, there is an image for color reference below (main character is half-Japanese, please take that into account). • A thick city with a core of taller buildings, one in the center rising a little above the others. The rest of city would slowly start to fade and shrink, smaller and smaller as it moves across the cover, the spine, and the back page until it petered out into wisps of air. I’ve included an image below for inspiration as to the shape and I would prefer it in either silver or white outline against the dark background. Cover details: Should have a front, back, and spine. On the front should be the title and the author name (smaller than the title) but both should be visible at thumbnail size. One the spine should be the title, author name and the name of the series. Again, the title takes prominence, author name at the bottom and series name at the top. One the back should be the blurb (listed above) and a space in the bottom right corner for the barcode which I will provide soon.

MaryDes and company was not only quick, professional, and endlessly skilled. But they were also open to all suggestion, honest with their opinion and feedback, and very flexible and patient. I can't imagine using anyone else for my books from now on. She has a rare talent and was able to visualize EXACTLY what I wanted. I've never found that before. So thank you!
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
