Ron and Erin Jones
Ron and Erin are the founders and operators of Wild Olive Acre, a small mixed farm in the central valley of California. Married for 12 years and proud Mom and Dad to five home-schooled children. Wild Olive Acre is a labor of love that focuses on animal husbandry, on-farm butchery, no-dig vegetable production and Education.
When pasturing poultry meets Back to Eden- the Orchard Bird is born. Taking our years of experience raising chickens on grass for meat, we've progressed into another phase of poultry management that we believe is more appropriate and beneficial for our arid and demanding climate. From raising birds on grass (the yardbird), to raising them in the beautiful, bug rich forest floor of a permaculture orchard (the orchard bird), we're able to provide our friends and customers with delicious chicken in the freezer as well as fresh fruits and vegetables, all while building soil, saving water, turning weeds into chicken, and saving ourselves a lot of time and money. "Orchard Bird" walks us through that process and explains the importance of families directly supporting farmers and vice versa. Wild Olive Acre is a small farm that has been blessed with a community of great folks that we have the privilege of serving, hopefully for years to come.
Our target reader is our ideal customer, families interested in direct farm to consumer relationships. Specifically wives and mothers who care about the quality of the food they feed their families. Parents in their 20's, 30's and 40's. People interested in small farms and taking control of their food system.
