OUR PRODUCTS / Introduction / FOUNDATION
What began as a simple passion for quality food, respect for nature and a deep felt desire to provide better food for our children, has today become the « Relais de Viron ». A farm that put respect for people, soil and animals at the heart of its operations. It is a project that builds trust between farmers in the Condroz and consumers; something we hope will continue to evolve for generations to come.
We aim to create a company, which is active in the field of organic farming and value chains (agroecology operating within a framework of short supply chain and direct sales. We value local development and the contribution to the local economy as well as the general development of micro farms in our region, the Belgian Condroz. We want to become the trusted intermediary, a relay between producers and consumers, urban and rural. We want to build our identity on our property, a former hunting pavilion (in French: Relais de chasse), called Relais de Viron.
We want to develop a number of activities on Relais de Viron.
Initially, we will set up training courses on our estate catering for the needs of both adults and children from 7 years.
We divide the activities on our micro farm into two main categories:
a) Training, courses and internships related to the managing small farm animals as well as traditional rural knowledge and know-how. These courses will be carried out by an independent farmer but on our property.
b) Similarly, we will offer training courses related to managing organic vegetable gardens which will be given by an independent gardener and take place on our property.
The objective of the two courses is to create an activity at the Relais de Viron to make ourselves known in the local community and build our brand. Training activities will allow us to create visual content (videos and photos) to boost the blog and social networks news flow in order to create a trusted brand for the sales and distribution of processed products of local agriculture.
At a second stage, we aim to produce and distribute organic products of the highest quality derived from our agricultural activities (of +/- 10 hectares) under the brand Relais de Viron. We want to emphasize quality rather than quantity with a sound anchoring in the local economy
Thirdly, we will expand to the distribute products from the region of Condroz under our brand (Relais de Viron). Producers would be other micro farms and processors. Quality is again the key requirement for products to be marketed under our brand.
We want to give a very premium image “luxury / noble”, founded on a deep felt respect for nature, human and animal health and welfare. We are proud of our region, the Condroz, and we would like this to be integrated into our visual identity, perhaps in text format.
We want to add value to local products, which require higher input costs in terms of labour and subsequently require a higher selling price. In order for this to happen, we need to provide high-end products and our dedication to perfection should be reflected in our image.
We will organise and host each year a Private chic Pic-Nic Club Relais de Viron on our property and two others of partners in our Region to do the promotion of our products.
Additional information to the introduction:
We are a noble Belgian family called “de Viron”. (Baron). We believe that nobility still carries a value of respect and quality. This is particularly the case in the countryside, where the noble family inspires confidence, trustworthiness and respect for others. We will provide our family coat of arms so you can make use of elements from the heraldry if you see fit.
Potential customers for the products will be French and English speakers (mainly the French Belgians as well as the Brussels-based expat community). Our communication will be conducted in both languages.
We want the Relais de Viron to be a vehicle of change for us as a family but also for the development of our local region.
We want consumers to live the experience of ultra-fresh products that have not been treated and that taste the way nature intended them to taste. We want to expand their horizons and embrace the diversity that only small scale production can provide us with.
Quentin de Viron
Having worked the last 10 years in finance, Quentin has become increasingly aware of the distance that separates the stock markets and the real economy, and recently decided to live closer to nature and tangible products and thus create the brand 'Relais de Viron' from the family property in the countryside. This new adventure is about improving our quality of life by moving to the countryside and reconnecting with our rural roots. Quentin is Belgian, married to Christiane de Viron (Danish). They have two daughters (3 and 2).
We need a master logo (Relais de Viron) that can be adapted easily for the underlying labels, brands. To be easily adapted for the packaging of each type of products (beef, chicken, ratatouille, honey, apple juice, goat cheese etc) and the training, courses on site at the farm.
We also need a banner to hang at the entrance of our property with a link to the Relais de Viron website and a reference to the training courses.
We need a graphic chart for all our communication tools: letter, business card, flyers, presentations etc.
We also need an image banners for the top of the "facebook home page" of our website (wix), twitter, Instagram.
