Alliance College-Ready Middle Academy 21 Champions, Alliance 21 Champions or ACRMA21 Champions (see attached logo guidelines)
"Always ready!" - if used, please show version with and without slogan
The mission of Alliance College-Ready Public Schools, a nonprofit charter management organization, is to open and operate a network of small, high-performing high schools and middle schools in under-served communities in California with historically under-performing schools, that will annually demonstrate student academic achievement growth, and graduate students ready for success in college.
Alliance is the largest charter management organization in Los Angeles. We educate nearly 12,000 students in 27 high-performing schools, have achieved more than 6,000 Alliance alumni, and continue to make a difference in the lives of every one of our students.
Like ACRMA 21, Alliance schools significantly outperform traditional public schools in preparing students to enter and succeed in college, using an educational model based on high expectations of students, small and personalized campuses, a longer school year and a longer instructional day, a team of highly effective teachers and principals, and parents as partners in their child’s educational success.
- All Alliance schools achieved 2013 Academic Performance Index (API) scores higher than their neighborhood average.
- All Alliance students take the University of California A through G college preparatory courses.
- 94% of Alliance students graduate high school in four years, and 95% of those graduates go on to college.
- 86% of our high school students take at least one Advanced Placement class.
- Alliance schools rank consistently among the top by U.S. News & World Report and Newsweek and are recognized as being among the best in the nation by the California Department of Education and the US Department of Education.
Alliance College-Ready Middle Academy 21 (ACRMA 21) is part of the Alliance network of 27 schools and some attributes that are specific to our school community is our cultural focus on partnering with parents is especially important. We believe that “every student has the ability, and together, we give them the opportunity".
Our school's academic focus and approach are:
- 21st Century Learning
- Service Learning and Leadership
- Entrepreneurship
For our mascot, we are the "Champions." We are trying to communicate with our students about the definition of a champion. It isn't just about winning in sports or contests, but being a champion for change and a leader in our communities.
“Champion” Definition (noun):
1. a person who has defeated all opponents in a competition or series of competitions, so as to hold first place: the heavyweight boxing champion.
2. anything that takes first place in competition: the champion of a cattle show.
3. an animal that has won a certain number of points in officially recognized shows: This dog is a champion.
4. a person who fights for or defends any person or cause: a champion of the oppressed.
5. a fighter or warrior.
Synonyms
1. winner, victor. 4. defender, protector. 6. maintain, fight for, advocate.
We are interested in exploring these colors but open to design suggestions if other colors would maximize energy and impact, in line with the "Champions" mascot:
- Blues: Knowledge, trust, calm and honesty.
- Yellows: Energy, intellect, fun and youth.
We would like to see a School Mascot logo with a character or shape that conveys "Champion" and can be adapted to also use in a School Crest logo for more formal occasions i.e. letterhead and diploma, per the attached logo guidelines. The school name is always fully written out (Alliance College-Ready Middle Academy 21) but the school mascot name can be presented in abbreviated form i.e. "Alliance 21 Champions" or "ACRMA21 Champions".
While all 27 Alliance schools are part of a network, each individual Alliance school has a unique personality that is brought to life mainly by the school mascot, much like an athletic league with individual teams, like the NFL or MLB. The school mascot logo should be unique, but also in line with the other Alliance logos to be presentable as a collection when needed (see attached logo brief for other school mascot logo examples).
