nathanlookingup got their new clothing or apparel by running a design contest:
Sweatshirt design of the 1970 Women's Strike for Equality
Check out nathanlookingup's Clothing or apparel contest…
The goal is to create a sweatshirt that looks like it is merchandise from the event (the 1970 Women's Strike for Equality). So the style should look vintage, like it is from the 70s. Sort of like this: https://rockabilia.com/products/woodstock-woodstock-poster-t-shirt-100695 and should look like it goes on a sweatshirt, something like this: https://shop.madeinsantacruz.com/product795.html But feel free to be creative, whatever you think best captures the spirit of the event! These were some badass feminist women and the design ethos should capture that. Important: This will be used for screen printing on various colored sweatshirts. So that means: 1) each color is more expensive and 2) the design needs to work with various background colors. So, limiting designs to 2-3 colors (not including black) would be ideal.
Apparel description and purpose
The goal of this project is to create a design that looks like merchandise from the 1970 Women's Strike for Equality (see here for info: https://time.com/4008060/women-strike-equality-1970/ and here for photos from the event: http://www.bobadelman.net/galleries/womens_lib/index.html ) This is an art project to create "new vintage sweaters" by screen printing a design representing a historical event onto thrifted crew neck sweaters. The sweaters are basically the same as long sleeve t shirts. They are various colors so hoping the design can work on multiple basic colors.
