Enera is an international company that develops SaaS and in-house communication solutions. Our products are used globally in a wide variety of industries and organisations. We are currently developing a mobile app to be used with our web based service, Call&Report. Call&Report is used for dispatching staff and assigning work orders. Follow up of staff and job assignments is done via a website. If used with GPS equipment, maps will indicate the location of staff and/or fleet vehicles. With the app, people who have accepted a job assignment will be able to report start and completion for assigned jobs.
What's your vision?
The product you are designing for is an app that will be used globally by our customers. The app will be supported on both iPhone (iOS 4.3 and above) and Android (2.2 and above, but the UI is designed for 4.0 and above using Holo theme). We need final usable app icon and splash screen in the formats defined below, and for Android also a monochrome status icon and Google Play feature graphic (probably based on splash screen). The app icon should be optimized for various smaller image sizes used in iPhone and Android (ldpi versions are not that important), as well as for the large image sizes used in the App Store / Google Play (see below). Keep in mind that the app icon images must have square corners. Even if your design includes a rounded-corner border, the background texture must still go all the way to the edges; this is Apple's requirement. The Android status icon should relate to the app icon but follow these designer guidelines: http://developer.android.com/guide/practices/ui_guidelines/icon_design_status_bar.html The splash screen should be designed so that it looks good in both portrait and landscape mode. Images for the various sizes (see below) should be optimized (e.g. cropped rather than stretched). We need the source files for all images as well as the following target PNG files (for Android, please organize the images according to the indicated directory structure): For iPhone: appicon.png 57 x 57 email@example.com 114 x 114 Default-Landscape.png 1024 x 748 (splash) Default-Portrait.png 768 x 1004 (splash) Default.png 320 x 480 (splash) Default@2x.png 640 x 960 (splash) Defaultfirstname.lastname@example.org 640 x 1136 (splash) (iPhone 5) For Android: appicon.png 128 x 128 default.png 320 x 480 (splash) images res-ldpi appicon.png 36 x 36 statusicon.png 18 x 18 res-mdpi appicon.png 48 x 48 statusicon.png 24 x 24 res-hdpi appicon.png 72 x 72 statusicon.png 36 x 36 res-xhdpi appicon.png 96 x 96 statusicon.png 48 x 48 res-long-land-ldpi default.png 400 x 240 (splash) res-long-land-mdpi default.png 600 x 360 (splash) res-long-land-hdpi default.png 800 x 480 (splash) res-long-land-xhdpi default.png 1200 x 720 (splash) res-long-port-ldpi default.png 240 x 400 (splash) res-long-port-mdpi default.png 360 x 600 (splash) res-long-port-hdpi default.png 480 x 800 (splash) res-long-port-hdpi default.png 720 x 1200 (splash) res-notlong-land-ldpi default.png 320 x 240 (splash) res-notlong-land-mdpi default.png 480 x 360 (splash) res-notlong-land-hdpi default.png 640 x 480 (splash) res-notlong-land-xhdpi default.png 960 x 720 (splash) res-notlong-port-ldpi default.png 240 x 320 (splash) res-notlong-port-mdpi default.png 360 x 480 (splash) res-notlong-port-hdpi default.png 480 x 640 (splash) res-notlong-port-xhdpi default.png 720 x 960 (splash) For App Store: The app icon in 1024 x 1024 and 512 x 512 For Google Play: The app icon in 512 x 512 (same one as for the App Store could be used) Feature graphic 1024 x 500 (see examples on Google Play web-site)
We would like the app icon and splash screen to relate to our existing marketing material for Call&Report. It would for example be nice if the design for the icon/splash screen included the same red colour as in our Call&Report logo (and perhaps that the overall colour scheme for the icon and splash screen is red-white-black). Here is a link to our Call&Report website for reference: http://www.call-report.com. The uploaded screenshots (iPhone and Android) are from a Beta version of the Call&Report app and included here only to give you a glimpse of the app itself. The "New" icon on the Android screenshot will later be replaced by the new Call&Report app icon.
