We need an iOS app icon made for our game - Slots Vacation. The game can be played at: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/28234469/Sl You'll be prompted to download the unity3d plugin to play. Please take note of the art style in the game. We'd like an icon that matches the overall style. It doesn't need to be an exact match, but for instance, we don't want an ultra-realistic icon, nor a very minimalistic icon. The fiction for the game is that you're playing the slots machine game to unlock new locations, and with each location is a new scene that you complete. I've included screenshots of the game as well. (images 1-5) The motif of the polaroid pictures is used to signify unlocking a new vacation location to explore. (image 6) The target audience for the game is broad, but one valuable audience group is women 35 and older. The icon doesn't need to be purposefully made pink or anything, but the colors should be bright and inviting. The icon should project an emotion of escape and freedom. I'll repeat that again, since it's very important. The idea for the game is to allow the player to go to a different world for a while and experience a mental vacation. When the player sees the icon on their iPad, that's what they should think - vacation, escape. The icon needs to communicate the message of that vacation, but still be energetic, because slots games generally try to build excitement and winning. Here are the options in terms of icon composition: 1. One object, no words. The object needs to convey "vacation", and be modified to include slot machine pieces like reels, or a handle. That way it represents both vacation and slots 2. One object, one word. The object conveys vacation. The word slots is written somewhere over the icon. The font and color of the word slots would need to communicate both excitement, and still reinforce the vacation theme. 3. Two objects, no words. Two objects that are right next to each other. Some how they fit together. One conveys vacation, the other conveys slots. I've included a collection of icons from other successful slot machine games. (image 7) You'll notice the repeated motif of 777 and Slots in many of them. We'd like to be a different from all the other slots games and do something closer to Pharaoh's Way (Slots - P. Way), where they have a strong and distinctive icon, plus some text. I consider the icons in the top row to be the good ones. The rest are all too similar and busy. I've also included some other game icons that I like. (image 8) Please note that almost all of them have a single graphical element, and very few have text. That's what we're going for as well. For all draft submissions, please include the 1024 x 1024 and 114 x 114 versions. The winning icon design will need to be delivered as .png in all the sizes used on the iOS store for iPad and iPhone.
