We wish to design a squirrel for a website encouraging people to save for retirement.
This character (through the illustrations) will embody attributes such as hard work, tenacity, determination and industriousness. We want the personality to be energetic and charming - but with a little 'moxy' and not too 'cute' or Disney like.
The target market will be people aged 18-45.
If it resonates with people, we wish to eventually use the character throughout our marketing (emails, website) in many different poses over time. So, the design needs to be simple/flexible enough to be adjusted and redesigned. For now, we would like 3 poses/illustrations:
(1) Our main squirrel, to be used in the web banner and possibly the logo. This needs to have energy and be visually memorable, as it will be the main illustration on our marketing material.
(2) the squirrel holding an acorn/nut (as a 'before' pose for a numerical example of how our site can help people save).
(3) the same squirrel, but with several acorns/nuts (as an 'after' pose for the same numerical example, showing the result of successfully squirreling away).
Ideally, the last 2 illustrations with the nuts would look a little humorous and tell a story/show the result of squirreling away more than you need.
The internet site will probably be called Super Squirrel (in Australia, retirement savings is called superannuation or 'super'). Please, no super hero references!
