cambell.prince got their new landing page design by running a design contest:
New landing page for Jamaican project
Check out cambell.prince's Landing page design contest…
This site gives large translation projects a boost during the checking phase by engaging the wider community in the checking process. This landing page is specifically for a Jamaican translation project.
Must be consistent with the existing design, yet give a Jamaican friendly feel. You are welcome to make minor variations to the logo if you think that would help. Jamaican flag / national color is green, yellow, black.
Elements to include in the landing page
The Jamaican ScriptureForge page is a project specific landing page on the scriptureforge.org web site. See http://dev.scriptureforge.org/projects/jamaican_psalms and also the homepage http://dev.scriptureforge.org Goals for user interaction with Jamaican ScriptureForge page: · Generate interest · Provide basic orientation · Establish credibility · Call to action / sign-up Components: a) Carousel / slides of topics with images and short text o Welcome o Describe existing 'Discussion Groups' (description and how to register) o Embed existing videos from YouTube channel for orientation § Project introduction § Creole language§ Web community role (what the role of community checking is and how the site works) Note 1: A slide show with 3 panes is fine for this design. Note 2: We have a slide show on the main homepage. Note 3: The videos are all provided by us (just in case that's not clear!) b) Project news (highlight participants, tell progress, impact stories) Show 3 sample news items. Title + paragraph with 'read more' link. c) Sign up link(s) Need to show where this would be linked on the Jamaican landing page. d) Invite a friend Need to show where this would be linked on the Jamaican landing page. Initial Requirement: The main task is to show a design that fits both the existing site design (which is intentionally very neutral) yet highlights the Jamaican culture perhaps featuring colors of the Jamaican flag(green, yellow, black) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flag_of_Jamaica or in some way (perhaps with an image) giving this page a Jamaican feel. Final Stage Requirement: Incorporate our text to ensure that it all fits with the design. e) Incorporate this logo as two tone into the footer: http://biblesocietywi.org/addons/shared_addons/themes/bootstrap/img/logo.png
