Blakeswood has been in operation for a little more than a year, and it has become clear that we need to update our website and make the brand more widely appealing.
To date, the business has appealed almost entirely to women, and has also tended to attract an older demographic (prospective clients in their 50s, 60s, or older). The company intends to appeal to a broader audience. That means the logo and brand need to be more appealing to men, and also be suitable for single people in their 30s and 40s (as well as single people in their 50s and 60s).
Blakeswood should be seen as a solid, trustworthy company. At the same time, we don’t want to be boring – our image should be modern w/ an organic feel, bright, hopeful, flirty, sophisticated but approachable, and a bit sexy. We've heart it described as "Modern Great Gatsby by the Beach in Santa Monica/Malibu" -- it's particular but just about right.
* Please look at the IG pages below for color palette(s) & potential look and feel inspirations. Note, we're also looking for 2x integrated color palettes - one "day" for events and matchmaking/sales collateral, and one "night" for sexier events that take place in the evening, like cocktails, whiskey & wine tastings, etc.
Our brand should be a bit more masculine than feminine (the service should appeal equally to men and women, but matchmaking tends to appeal to women more than to men, so we may want to compensate for that via the design).
This project encompasses just the logo and the business card design as well as 2x integrated color palettes as previously mentioned.
Subsequently we will be updating the website and other marketing materials as a separate project. Please ignore the existing website design, color scheme, and imagery when working on a new logo.
For the logo we would prefer a font treatment of "Blakeswood" and of "Matchmaking" on the second line, plus a motif. The motif should be thematically related to love, connecting two people, etc.
For purposes of comparison, please create all logo designs for use on a white background. Also, we do not want to use stock photography within the logo design or business card.
