Apple/Nike/Beats/Glossier/DoorDash/Instagram-type of "aspirational+modern" logo for GuideHero
chrisryuichi needed a new logo design and created a contest on 99designs.
A winner was selected from 419 designs submitted by 96 freelance designers.

Who are you known as?
GuideHero (although our focus is on the logo part.)
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
GuideHero is a website where users can share their favorite content on the web in a beautiful and sophisticated way.
It's Instagram for things that don't go on Instagram, (i.e. your favorite articles, books, websites, newsletters, and more).
It’s Pinterest but with more useful insights (i.e. rankings of books, favorite design tools, tech articles with insightful comments by the people you follow, etc.).
Just like an Instagram's profile page, users can have a cool wall of memory filled with their favorite content outside of Instagram, which usually is around food, fashion, and travel.

-Please understand our brand positioning. We are the top right quadrant of that grid (the yellow area).
-We are an aspirational+modern brand like Apple, Beats, Nike, Glossier, but NOT Louis Vuitton or Rolls-Royce. (too sharp, thin, edgy is not good. It makes it too unapproachable).
-We want to be modern, tech-savvy, universal, approachable, and cool like Instagram, but not lame like facebook.
-Understanding our brand positioning I think will significantly help you match our direction.
-The youtube videos hopefully will help you with the direction. They should confirm the things mentioned above.
-Please feel free to ask any questions or try out multiple variations at once - we're happy to guide the style/feel in the right direction.

As mentioned in the "DESIGN SPEC", we will want to use our logo in many occasions and colors. (Eg. Apple, Nike, Beats, Glossier). For our website, we will likely want it to be in Gold.
