How martha.reed started their logo design journey
Who are you known as?
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
I have a small business on an island off the coast of Maine selling organically grown fresh local cut flowers and herbs. I need a design that I can use on business cards and advertising material. It should be simple and eye catching and let people immediately know that this business is about growing flowers. My garden has an old fashioned, magical, cottage garden feel to it. I love vintage tin buckets and old fashioned watering cans watering cans, wooden fences, traditional flowers and hand tied bouquets. I work alone and am known as a "mother earth" type who has created a magical place with my garden.
Please see my pinterest board at https://www.pinterest.com/dogsndoll…ard-ideas/ for some ideas. I would love to have something with a vintage European style (elongated spout) watering can and a bouquet that I can have either as a plain black image, or with more detail. Most of my advertising will be done in a local print newsletter/paper that is black and white and has columns 2 1/4 " wide. I need a eye-catching graphic that will stand out immediately. While I love color, especially coral (NOT orange,) I need something that will stand out in black, but translate well in color on business cards. I'd like an image along with my business name- a watering can, a straw garden hat, a hand tied bouquet or something similar.
While my business and community are small, I belong to a national organization of specialty flower growers and the logo will be seen by flower farmers worldwide.
What industry do you think your business is most related to?
Other color requirements
I'd like to explore the following colors:
Purples (Imagination, spirituality, royalty and luxury.)
Blues (Knowledge, trust, calm and honesty.)

The local paper is only black and white, so the logo must read well in black.
