society for affective science needed a new logo design and created a contest on 99designs.
A winner was selected from 139 designs submitted by 18 freelance designers.
Society for Affective Science
We are an academic society focused on the study of affect (emotion) that integrates multiple intellectual perspectives and fields (e.g., psychology, law, neuroscience, sociology, etc).
We want our logo to reflect a multilevel approach to affective science – including individuals, the social environments that we interact with, and the broader context and cultures that we exist within. We do not want our logo to reflect just one of these domains (e.g., the brain); rather, we want our logo to reflect the abstract yet interconnected networks of our emotional lives, from the brain to people to culture. It would be fine if the logo included (or was based upon) the abbreviation of the society name- SAS.
Our logo should reflect a diversity of populations and methods. Thus, please avoid an image of a stylized person that is gendered. As a final note, it is important that the logo looks good on our website, mobile devices, and in print; to best do this, it is important that the logo can be scaled to size a needed.
We're in the process of rebuilding our website but you can find more info about our society here https://www.society-for-affective-science.org/ Our Twitter feed is here: https://twitter.com/affectScience
