Logo types to explore

I was looking for somethings very clean, simple and graphic, possible a silhouette or very simple line drawing. It needs to work when small on a business card as well as on a website.
The design needs to be sophisticated and appeal to tech savvy, silicon valley types who love Apple products and the latest gadgets. They are always looking for the latest development.
I have been playing with the idea of a dog paw and human hand, or a dog being petted. I need it to read "dog" as my business name is more ambiguous. I wanted it to read serious and professional, but also kind and gentle. Somewhere you can trust with your sensitive dog. My potential customers are willing to spend a bit extra to get the right service for their dog. I am not looking for a cartoon style image.
