Verified: New Jobs is a branding campaign designed to increase support for new, clean industries that take advantage of our state’s strengths, will bring good paying jobs to the state, and diversify our economy. You will find the Verified: New Jobs stamp on policies that remove barriers to job creation in forward thinking, clean industries rooted in New Mexico’s strengths - smart and talented people, a beautiful landscape and climate, and resiliency.
Our state’s economy has sputtered to a stop. We are second in the nation in unemployment. Young adults and families are fleeing the state for Colorado, Texas, and Arizona. Our state has relied on a handful of industries, creating boom and bust cycles that create economic instability for residents and unpredictability for new industries trying to take root. We need better paying jobs and a diversified economy, and we need them now.
New jobs abound in up-and-coming industries like arts and culture, clean energy, cannabis, eco-tourism, film, healthcare, hemp, local food production, manufacturing, outdoor recreation, tech, tourism, and more. These industries will shoulder New Mexico’s economy for decades to come, if they are allowed to get a start now. That means better paying jobs for young people and old, and opportunities for families to get ahead for generations to come. These jobs can make New Mexico a place where our children will want to stay and succeed. We need the Verified: New Jobs policies now, so we can drive our economy in a new direction.
Design Guidance: We envision "Verified: New Jobs" as a stamp--like the Better Housekeeping Seal of Approval or the USDA stamp on meat at the grocery store. We want to generate feelings of solid, reliable, true, concrete, rooted in NM.
