"Independent Dog" logo needed

We would like to have a clean and simple logo for our online dog boutique. Please see full brief for more details!

Logo should be simple and elegant. We prefer a "silhouette" or "outline" look, but don't let it put a cap on your creativity!

Our company is called "Independent Dog". We are an online dog boutique selling clothing and accessories for dogs. The company name should stand out and read very easily. Logo should be clean, elegant and trendy, but not uptight!

The logo will be used primarily on the website, but we will also use it in printed materials like stationary and receipts. The logo might be silk screened on t-shirts also.

We would like the logo to be in color so it is not too plain. We will also need to be able to put the logo on our receipts, and the receipt printer only prints black! So, the logo must also look good when printed in black only.

Finished logo must be all original work only. Please no submissions containing clipart or copyrighted material. Full ownership of copyright must be transfered to us. We will require a written agreement to be signed giving us full ownership of the logo.

Dear entrants,

After seeing the initial entries, we realize that we may have put to much control over you creativity. So, I took down the reference URL with the images. We do like what we have seen thus far, and we still would like to see any ideas you have with the silhouette and cityscape concept. If there is going to be a dog in your design, we want it to be a greyhound.

I am going to take this time to open the contest up to different ideas also. We are not locked into the cityscape, so I think we should have given you (the artists) more control. If anyone has any ideas that come to mind for "Independent Dog" (other than the cityscape) please submit them. We have seen so much incredible work on sitepoint...... bravo to all the artist who show their work here!!! We thought giving a direction was a good way to go, and I think we would have been better off trusting your creativity. So show us what you can do!
