The fireside chats were a series of 30 evening radio addresses given by U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt between 1933 and 1944. Roosevelt spoke with familiarity to millions of Americans about the banking crisis, the recession, New Deal initiatives, and the course of World War II. On radio, he was able to quell rumors and explain his policies directly to the American public. He was the only President to be elected for four terms of office. His tone and demeanor communicated self-assurance during times of despair and uncertainty. Roosevelt was a great communicator on radio, and the fireside chats kept him in high public regard throughout his presidency. Their introduction was later described as a "revolutionary experiment with a nascent media platform".
What we've created is a two way text messaging platform. It allows politicians to have "fireside chats" with their constituents. They can send out a mass message to any number of supporters, and then supporters can actually respond to said texts. Their responses are recorded, logged and answered by a semi-automated response machine. Example: Someone could ask, "What are you doing to address the national debt?" and the machine will select potential responses, which are then sent by a moderator back to the subscriber. We believe that this form of messaging is the modern day version of FDR's fireside chats and is a revolutionary way of having transparent communications between elected leaders and their constituents.
We want to design a logo for this that embodies the idea of the fireside chats. We named our service "Fireside" because we want people to be constantly thinking of the type of communication they can have through our platform.
NOTE: I love the idea of having one larger outer text box with flames and then a smaller text box inside it. My favorite example that does that is the sixth one shown below. However, in that design the flames are not realistic enough. I prefer the flames in the fourth design because of their added detail and realism. I would take inspiration from the firefox logo, number 5 but doesn't need to be as detailed as that logo. The 6th design is the height and width of the logo that I envision and I like the idea of the logo being circular in shape, as it will be displaying at the top left of our website and used as an icon. Also, the word 'fire' should be bold and 'side' less bold. A good combination of the 4th, 5th & 6th designs will win this contest.
Also, please have the logo say 'Fireside texts'. Preferably the word texts would appear smaller in someway than fireside.
ADDITIONAL NOTES: The inside text bubble should be in a circular shape and cut out like examples below.
