barbi needed a new logo design and created a contest on 99designs.
A winner was selected from 74 designs submitted by 7 freelance designers.
Barbi Honeycutt, Ph.D.
I'd like to see how the logo looks with and without the slogan. I am still trying to decide between two slogans. Slogan 1 is: Speaker. Scholar Author. Slogan 2 is: Engage your learners.
I teach college professors how to teach. I travel around the U.S. speaking at college campuses. I write articles and books, and I conduct research and serve as a consultant. My audience is very well educated. They are excited to learn about new ways to engage their students. They are creative, scholarly, and inquisitive. They are enthusiastic and want to serve their students better by designing more engaging learning experiences.
I want my logo to convey:
-This is a person who provides quality resources and creative teaching strategies.
This is a person I can trust.
-This is a person who can teach me something new about teaching in higher education.
-This is a person who is a 'thought leader' in higher education.
-This person is creative, organized, and credible.
I'd like to try to use colors that convey both credibility and creativity. Maybe blues, oranges....I'm open color ideas. Needs to be professional, not whimsical. See the screenshot of my new web site below which might help with color ideas.
I'm trying to create a brand around myself as a speaker, scholar, and author. My current web site is undergoing a complete redesign (flipitconsulting.com). FLIP It Consulting will be a subcategory of the larger brand of barbihoneycutt.com.
Since I work in higher education, I'd like it to feel academic and scholarly, yet friendly and creative. My new web site will use colors such as deep reds, golds, greens, oranges, and blues (see attached screen shot).
