jiri.kurzveiq got their new logo design by running a design contest:
The logo of woodpecker for our online newsletter
Check out jiri.kurzveiq's Logo design contest…
Update: The dominant element of the logo should be the inscription-name "DATEL", the woodpecker bird only very minimalistic and symbolic (eg only the head or his part) or the bird symbol may be missing altogether. Please focus more on the design of the inscription-name. Original describe: The word DATEL means the woodpecker (a literal translation from Czech language). DATEL is a local online newsletter and civic opposition initiative. Dat-el means electronic data and information too. We deal with both current issues and the long-term strategy of our city. We focus on transparent discussion of current events and presentation of objective and independent information. A bird of this species is our model and symbol, it is called the doctor of the forest and lives close to people. He can recognize a diseased tree before a human. It feeds on wood-destroying insects. Its activity is also secondarily beneficial, its activity creates dwellings for other birds, thus improving the quality of living space. The logo can have two concepts. The first is descriptive, may contain the symbol of a woodpecker bird, but very minimalistically. We also allow a variant where the woodpecker does not knock on a tree, but on the town hall. The second concept is only a symbolic, very minimalist approach of the DATEL logo to woodpecker birds. The bird is black and has a distinctive red "cap" on its head.
In addition to being used on the web newsletter, we would also like to use the logo for Facebook, where we will share newsletter articles.
