How prairie_meats started their logo design journey
Who are you known as?
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
Custom abattoir. We make traditional sausage and smoked meats. We are 3rd party certified humane handling. We are not looking for the word Abattoir in the logo, most people do not even know what that is. We do not need the business name in the logo, but are not opposed to it either. We are also open to the idea of maybe having the P and the M crafted into the logo. For those that are not familiar with this type of business, the iconic butcher and the cleaver are very over done, so we are not steering in that direction. There are several companies in our area with the name Prairie Meats, so we really want to set ourselves apart from them. We are wondering if the name itself can be made into the logo. We want a design which is simple, organic and can be viewed just as well in black and white as in color. We are wanting it to look just as good in a one inch square as it would on the side of a building. We are in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, this is a farming community ranging from hunting and fishing to ranching and growing wheat or canola. We slaughter and process everything from rabbits to moose and elk....
What industry do you think your business is most related to?
To give us an idea of the overall feeling of your brand, let us know which styles you lean towards
What: Government inspected slaughter house, we kill, cut and wrap animals to customer specification. We make our own sausage, bacon, ham and jerky. We process all types of animals, from rabbits to beef, pork, bison, lamb, and wild game.
How: Everything is done in the artisan fashion. We hand cut, link and smoke the traditional way.
Why: We believe that the customer is our most valuable asset and that the animals are giving us the ultimate sacrifice and that both should be honored. We value honesty and transparency and we believe it is one of the most important jobs to be able to transition an animal into somebodies food.
We work with ranchers, hunters and housewives alike. We are wanting something new to try to "rebrand" ourselves. We are looking for a clean, simple and easily recognizable logo. Something we can put onto signs, invoices, letterhead and package labels.
