How we describe ourselves:
The Mid-Continent Regional Science Association (MCRSA) is an organization consisting of an interdisciplinary membership from academics and other public and private organizations. We are interested in using the tools of regional science to help solve applied problems in rural and urban areas at the local, state, and national levels.
Among our membership are campus-based teachers and researchers, outreach educators, public and private analysts, consultants, and many others. The disciplines represented within our group include economics, planning, geography, business, sociology, public administration, and others. While the majority of our membership is generally located in the central United States, we have active members throughout the world.
In general, we are we are interested in how economic phenomena occurs and is distributed across space.
We are a fairly conservative (not in the political sense) membership and organization. That is, we are not looking for wild, frilly, or silly logo designs. More often, you will see some geometric representation for organizations such as ours.
Our scholarly journal is The Journal of Regional Analysis & Policy (http://www.jrap-journal.org/). Our sister organizations in the U.S. include the Southern Regional Science Association (http://www.srsa.org/) and the Western Regional Science Association (https://www.wrsaonline.org/newsite/). Our parent organization is the North American Regional Science Council (http://www.narsc.org/newsite/).
Our target audience is other academics and practitioners who are interested in our meetings and publications, and who want to communicate and network with others of similar interests.
