I know this is a job that's not giving you much to go on, and as a creative professional, I know how frustrating that is. Sorry, but I've gotta be that guy.
I'm looking for a strong, simple and subtle image to help catch the eyes of visitors to my website as they catch up on all the writing endeavors I do. The name represents the ironic humor a lot of my writing has, and there's room for some quiet wit in this logo, if you can find it.
You can see the website where this will be used at http://www.uniquelygeneric.net. It will replace the owl (which is just a placeholder leftover from the generic theme). The text that's currently there can be removed in favor of text if you include any...but if you don't include any text, that's fine as well.
I'm not connected to Orange, but if it's used, I'd prefer it used subtly, rather than as a primary color.
Kevin's writings cover a wide range: he writes a webcomic about baseball (http://www.sflunaticfringe.com) and often contributes on a few sportswriting websites, has a young adult novel currently published (http://www.tohellwithfate.com), and his next novel will be an adult-oriented comedy. Please feel free to take a look at this, but the logo should not overly reflect any one influence.
One other note: almost all of his writings are based in, around, or have a theme surrounding the San Francisco Bay Area. If you'd like to include something connecting that, I'd love to see your ideas. But please keep in mind that I do want subtlety.
I honestly have no idea what I'd like out of this logo in terms of imagery. I'm looking forward to seeing some creative ideas. Please have fun with this!
