How naomi.handley started their magazine cover journey
Who are you known as?
Univeristy College at Univeristy of Toronto
What industry do you think your business is most related to?
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
The cover is for the UC alumni magazine, a bi-annual publication to 27,000 alumni.
What inspires you and how do you envision the design for your business?
One of the features in the upcoming edition celebrates the revitalization of the iconic, UC building (a heritage site). The idea was to create a yellow and black cover (construction theme) with a blackened in drawing of the UC building and include cranes and other construction images. The title of the cover is "UC Under Construction". The project would need to be completed by Feb 2.
University College is the oldest college and building at University of Toronto. Any time the U of T is referenced in the media, an image of UC is predominantly used to represent the U of T visually. The image needs to be eye-catching and of the highest quality (considering the significance of the building to U of T and the City of Toronto).
There is a huge image bank of photos of the building that can be used.
The construction is a revitalization of this iconic, heritage building - there is no actual demolition.
The building has not been touched since the 1970s so this marks a momentous occasion for the college and its alumni.
The designer of the magazine will need to be able to add in the feature articles on the cover (or can be done by cover designer).
