alexander.moldow got their new app design by running a design contest:
Check out alexander.moldow's App design contest…
Neighbouring spaces App/platform allows users to turn their working and living proximity into a community. within these communities the app allows for all real estate holders to form efficient communication links and functionalities for their specific use cases e.g. landlords tracking payments, getting updates of their property etc..
wework application, very contemporary minimalistic messaging apps, well designed and intuitive dashboard, substrate of gamification elements to be added. also thinking about the micro-behaviours and interactions which will be programmed into the app. The design should cater for the ability to connect with neighbours but balance that with privacy. the function of messaging a neighbour will be called knock on door or doorbell.
Screen 1 Home screen From the dashboard/home screen there is a feed updating and summarizing all activities. From there the user can choose to message a particular user, landlord, building manager, property manager and of course the members of his/her immediate neighbourhood. Screen 2 The Messaging Screen This is simply when I engage with a neighbour or other stakeholders like landlord and property management this is when the app is for direct messaging. think a minimalistic whatsapp. here the user can exchange files upload pics and text. I can contact my neighbours directly by ringing the doorbell function. Screen 3 Services Screen From the dashboard a user may want a purchase services provided in the building by third parties e.g. cleaning, electrician, chef, babysitting, tutoring,as well as utility company and the local council services. The user will see services that he/she can join a time block booking within the neighbourhood with one tap as the system already holds credit card details. Screen 4 social network. See the people living around you. This should display the neighbourhood and present neighbors within your immediate proximity (think dating app). The profiles should have some basic info as well as things like shared interests. There should also be a concept of playground for kids to meet other kids within their proximity. each profile should display some info in icon form to indicate interests and anything you would deem appropriate drawing from other social networking apps. Screen 5 Feed (All the things that are occurring publicly in real time) this is to act as a forum type of space where all public requests and information can be uploaded. great example is the wework app. think facebook wall but less clutered and being able to identify quickly the different types of messages. neighbours, property manager, my landlord, parcel delivery, keys take out/in, service provider arrived/left etc.... A couple of notes on purpose of the dashboard: The user should be able to see any new incoming messages, widget for parcels, keys, services, his/her property, profile and invitations. The feed is a screen that displays all the events of the day. Think of a Facebook timeline. Wework app has a pretty good structure, if you'd like to reference their designs.

We're thrilled with the app design provided from Typelab D. It was clear with the initial submission that their design was a tier above the others, and we're excited to work with Typelab D 1:1 for additional projects.
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
