Sergey Demyanov got their new app design by running a design contest:
A simple but decent design for a dating messenger is required. Additionally you get 10% of shares.

This is supposed to be a quite simple app. The idea is the following: it allows people to watch some info from Facebook profiles of people nearby (max 80 meters), and chat with them. This app is based on the iBeacon technology, that allows it to view profiles without any action on other phones. It is just enough that the application is installed. This is a relatively new technology, so there is no popular app of this type so far. It is a common problem for guys to find a topic to talk with a girl that they just have seen. The info from Facebook shows some basic info like name, university and interests, that gives a topic to start the conversation offline. It can also be used on the events like meetups, when you want to quickly get the basic info about a person you want to talk with.
The app has 3 tabs: 1) Nearby, with the Search button. Shows the photos (and maybe names) of the people nearby. This button is either active (search is working) or inactive (search is not working). Photos should be large (one photo on a screen), because i) the user should be able to quickly recognize the person on a photo, ii) usually there will be just a few people nearby. Thus, there should be scrolling to see all the list (horizontal or vertical). There also should be the info about when the person was found. Like, 'now', '1 minute ago', and so on. 2) Conversations. Standard conversation functions. From this screen you can move to the chat screen and back and you can delete the threads. 3) Profile. Automatically pulls the info from Facebook. Has additional status field. You can edit info of your profile and view the profiles of others. Should allow to scroll profile, like in Tinder. From the Nearby tab you can watch the profiles of others by clicking on a photo. You can send them only one single message. If they reply, a new conversation appears in the conversation list of a sender, and you can message without limits. Thus, the conversation screen of a receiver has two sections: not replied and replied threads. You can remove conversations, and these people will not be able to text you anymore and see you in the nearby list. You can become invisible, so people cannot see you in the nearby list. I have the implemented prototype already, and can show the current location of key elements when necessary.
