Johannes F got their new app design by running a design contest:
Yantzu. Give future radio a face!
Check out Johannes F's App design contest…
Yantzu is a small startup company, which is working on a mobile app for personalized radio. The app combines personalized music with personalized audio content. Our application inserts e.g. radio news in a Spotify music stream, that are selected the same way. As a result, the user gets a radio program fully according to his taste.
We like a very reduced, clear and modern design.
The app brings together the individual music selection of a streaming service and likewise personalized radio content (radio news in a first step) and combines them into a very personal radio mix. Therefore we have two nearly identical starting screens: one for the music player and one for the content player. The user swipes left and right to switch from one to the other. If he swipes vertically he will find the related subsites: the playlists for music and the news selection for content. At the moment we have four screens: 1) Start Music The music screen is mainly an audio player such as the Spotify play unit: - play/off button (play = logo!) - skip buttons - timeline for play progress - info playlist and song - cover photo - like & dislike button (not yet in our recent version, optional, depending from active stream provider) - in addition we have a slider, that determines the amount of music/content - signs for further navigation possibilities (up/down/right/left) 2) Start Content The content screen is structured very similar: - play/off button (play = logo!) - skip buttons - timeline for play progress - info news category and single news - stock photo news category - like & dislike button (not yet in our recent version, but being activated immediately) - progress indicator while content background loading - in addition we have the same slider, that determines the amount of music/content - signs for further navigation possibilities (up/down/right/left) 3) Music Selection - a clickable header “Spotify” (as we plan other music providers or radio streams, that can be activated) - for spotify we want to show the playlists which we take directly from spotify. So we need a list with: - header “Your Playlists” (there will be further sites for “Your Songs” & “Your Albums”) - cover photos - playlist names - signs for further navigation possibilities (up/down/right/left) 4) News Selection The subsite of the content screen contains the selection of the news profile with the five categories “Politik”(politics), “Wirtschaft” (economy) , “Sport” (sports), “Kultur” (culture) and "Panorama" (miscellaneous) - a clickable header “News” (as we plan other subsites with other content channels, that can be activated) - stock photos/symbols for the news categories - slider for each news category - signs for further navigation possibilities (up/down/right/left)

Designers across the globe delivered design magic.
Johannes F collaborated with designers to refine their ideas
When design entries come in, you can rate them so designers know what you’re looking for in your logo design.
99designs has great collaboration tools so you can pinpoint and capture your ideas
And then… they selected a winner!
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
We think contests are a super fun way to get design.
