Paulina is an amazing designer to work with! When we initially started our contest, we were looking for a specific design targeted to a specific audience and Paulina delivered. She took feedback incredibly well and was very open to design changes. Her professionalism and customer service was outstanding and there was always a timely response. Paulina, it was a pleasure working with you!

What industry do you think your business is most related to?
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
The vision of UOIT Engineering Outreach is to engage and spark curiosity in children and youth in engineering through fun and exciting hands-on activities. We are focused on connecting children and youth to engineering by bridging science and math curriculum in Ontario classrooms.
The UOIT Engineering Electronics Lending Library and Library Workshop series is an exciting program that provides youth between the ages 5 and up (along with their families), to learning resources such as robots, electronics, arduinos and raspberry pi's. These resources allow families in the local community to bring home learning materials that may be too expensive to purchase on their own. The lending library is complemented by a hands-on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) workshop program facilitated by our engineering students and staff throughout the year.
What inspires you and how do you envision the design for your business?
We want an illustration designed for the front cover of our UOIT Engineering Electronics Lending Library workbook which would accompany each resource kit. The theme is STEM education. The cover should reflect our focus on providing exciting hands-on STEM experiences (experiential learning) at home.
We would like the illustration for the cover to be playful given the audience (however not too juvenile/cartoon-like). In addition, we are mindful of promoting STEM, and specifically engineering, to underrepresented groups -- including girls and visible minorities.
Dimensions of the booklet. The booklet will be printed on 8 1/2" x 11" paper and folded down the middle...making the finished booklet cover 8 1/2" tall and 5 1/2" wide.
