What's your vision?
Hi! We are looking for for help in designing the artwork for our product packaging, specifically starting with our clothespin magnet product. We have a PVC clear box that we would like to use, and would like artwork to be designed on a card that has a specific information, including room for a UPC bar code. The PVC box measures 2.25" wide x 3.75" high and is 5/8" deep. It fits our clothespin magnets perfectly (that comes in a set of 4), with an extra 5/8" on the bottom. This 5/8" free space is where we would like a card to go. The card would actually be folded into a rectangular "tube", so that 3 sides could be printed on. The card in total measures 2.25" x 2.5" and would be folded every 5/8th of an inch. We imagine that the UPC bar code would go on the bottom (there is no need to do anything for this, the space should be left blank), and that the "top" of the folded card would have no artwork as the bottom of the magnets would be resting on this part. The front part of the card would have the following information: -our logo (attached) -Clothespin Magnets -Set of 4 These super strong magnets feature silkscreened yuzen Japanese paper with an epoxy coating* *This text can be changed, but should be along those lines The back portion of the card would have: -©The Rare Orchid -our website www.TheRareOrchid.com -Paper handmade in Japan -Assembled in China We are totally open to changing things around but all of the information listed must be on the card some where. It's a small space but hopefully we can find a way to make it look clean. Please refer to the picture of the mock sample we've made to get a better picture of what it would look like. (sorry the are low quality, it's just to give you an idea of what we are thinking of!) Just for your reference, the 4 magnetic clothespins are clipped to a small piece of card which keeps them together. We are also open to new ideas of how the card could be designed, but would like to use this size box, and want to make sure the magnets are showing on the backside of the packaging. One cool fact about our magnets is they are so strong they will stick through the plastic! Although this is an Asian product, we do not want our branding Asian-like and prefer a font perhaps similar to the Courier style. We tend to like a little vintage style, but also like to keep things clean. We have paid for the font packaged from http://www.ultimatefontdownload.com/ which is licensed for commercial use, so if you see any fonts on there you would like to try, please message us and let us know. We are open to color schemes but want to note that because our paper patterns vary widely in colors, the packaging should not take away from that. Attached you will also find our catalog so you can know our product line more clearly and also see all the patterns we carry. As another note, our company tends to like grey, white, and teal and we use these colors a lot. One idea we've thought about is making the card a natural cardboard color, with black printing on it, with maybe some sort of "decorative label" shape (see attached picture for random sample) in white. We are open to suggestions as long as you keep all these factors in mind! **Please make sure that all files are done in Adobe Illustrator and compatible with CS5. Font files should either be accessible (please send them with your finished work), or they should be outlined.
Ultimately we are hoping whoever creates this design for us will be able to work with us to layout the graphics for many different types of products we are making using a similar style, and possibly do other work like updating our website design, as well as laying out marketing material such as catalogs and signage for trade shows and displays. We should note that we have some big opportunities in the works with some major chain stores, so we would like our packaging to look highly professional and clean.
