We want the design to be clean, sophisticated, and original. Surf apparel-edgy (www.whatyouth.com, http://www.rvca.com, http://www.hurly.com) with mass market appeal. Eye-catching both in a website photo or on a Whole Foods / Urban Outfitters / Anthropologie shelf. Many modern designs have a very whimsical look-- we would prefer more of an artsy appeal. It should reflect our values of design and eco-consciousness without necessarily shoving the environmental aspect in your face. The design of the bottle should be compelling on its own, even if people aren't as interested in environmental aspects of the brand. The quality of the product is very high (includes essential oils, some organic ingredients, argon oil, etc.), the packaging (glass) is a higher end material, and the graphics should reflect the same.
The initial scent will be "Coastal Sage" or "Lavender", made from essential oils. The actual soap is made from an all natural, "green chemistry" type of formulation.
Colors: Please ensure the text is legible, particularly with regard to color. It is not a huge bottle. Simple black text as the main color with a subtle amount of the text and/or graphics in surf colors (electric blue/turquoise, hot purple, seafood green, etc) that pops off the bottle is ideal.
Technical: We need a label for a 8 ounce Boston Round style (please superimpose on the design we linked to in this brief), frosted glass hand wash bottle with a black, natural/clear colored, or white lotion pump. We will be silk screening the design directly on to the bottle (like a vodka bottle), so it needs to be only one or two colors-- and if two colors, there needs to be separation between the colors due to the silk screening technical printing constraints (the bottle must run through the machine once for each color, and it's possible the bottle can move slightly in the process). The design should start 1/8 of an inch off the curve of the shoulder, and 1/8 of an inch off the curve of the bottom. We also need to leave room for ingredients and some marketing copy on the back.
If the label wraps around the bottle in a 360 degree fashion, there needs to be a 1/4 inch vertical separation "column" somewhere on the wrap due to a printing constraint (the print process can't handle a full 360 degree design, there must be that small 1/4 inch gap somewhere in the design).
Organic aloe, argon oil, botanicals, and an essential oil blend – in a 100% degradable glass bottle – will leave both your hands and the ocean clean and healthy. Say no to single-use plastic containers and yes to Sea Bottle personal care products, always made with environmentally sustainable materials. Sea Bottle: For Bodies of Water. [tagline in bold]
Please recycle the pump with our refills. [italics]
