BRAND AND BUSINESS: Global Alternative Trading Inc. is developing a new line of products under our CUPIDOLOGY brand for seasonal Valentine’s Day sales in the North American mass market. We require a design template that can be spread across multiple products contained in various packaging (boxes, bottles, etc.). The line will consist primarily of kits containing multiple items/components.
TARGET AUDIENCE: The product line will be targeted for use by girls aged 5+. In general, the purchaser will be an adult.
VALUE TO COMMUNICATE: As these products will be used on the body, the design should communicate good quality products that are safe to use. The projected MSRP range for the kits will be $4.99 - $8.99.
STYLISTIC PREFERENCES: Due to the seasonal nature, the products will be purchased on impulse and the design must capture that impulsiveness. As the products will mainly be purchased for use as gifts, the design must project “giftable”. It should not be overly sophisticated. The use of heart shapes is highly encouraged. Adequate space must be left for inclusion of the product name and brief description of the contents on the package fronts. Somewhere within the design, please include the text “BATH & BODY SET” utilizing a recommended font. The design should convey Valentine's Day however the actual words "Valentine's Day" will not appear on the packaging.
COLORS: Shades of red and pink should dominate the design in order to present well alongside other traditional Valentine’s Day offerings. The use of foil stamping within the design may work well to convey quality.
EXAMPLE IMAGES: The attached product image provides a very general example of the type/style of design that we are seeking. Also attached is the CUPIDOLOGY logo which must be incorporated into the design template.
MISCELLANEOUS: For purposes of this contest, we ask that the design entries be presented as a package front in two formats (see attached ppt file). One format contains a heart-shaped transparent cutout – the design can infringe upon the heart shape somewhat however the space within the heart should be left primarily blank as it will serve as a window to the contents. The second format contains no cutout – the design can cover the full area.
