Description of the product target audience
Target Consumer: An “Experimenter”. Imagine an Artist, Architect, or Designer. Someone who dresses a little differently. Male, female, gay or straight, they are adventurous and individualistic. Someone whose interest is piqued by tasteful images, style, words, and descriptions – not wine scores. Always a year or two ahead of everyone. Fashionable and different. A typical night out with their significant other is a bottle of wine at the trendy new bistro on their way to the theatre or a reception for their favorite artist’s gallery opening. Revered by their friends, these folks are fun, well-read, well-spoken, and attract attention wherever they go. They are “uber-cool”. I do not want it to look sophisticated so keep it as simple and elegant as possible. Create a modern classic wine label and logo that reflects opulence, prosperity and good wealth. We are inspired by some of the wine label designs attached. However, we are open to creative interpretation.

Puglia is a land of sea, hills and endless plains, the Puglia region attracts visitors for its amazing coastline (more than 800 kilometers across Adriatic and Ionian Sea), but also for its art cities and picturesque historical villages, where old religious traditions still live untouched, its countryside masserie immersed in olive groves, and its plenty of farm products that tell of unique ancient flavors. Apulia is always worth a trip, for many reasons. The name of this wine is Masserì which cames from the word Masseria The masserie – or farmstay – have deep roots in the past of this region when the spanish empire allowed at Regno delle Due Sicilie the licence necessary for repopulate the abandoned areas of the region. he typical masserie of Puglia was a proper mini village where families, nobles and animals lived together. The Masserie of Puglia were places where daily life and hard work were mixed together. Typical products as cheese, ham, meat and olive oli always constituted the pilasters of the economy of the masserie. Trough the time these masserie changed their aspect. The richest masserie started building stone wall all around for instance. Masserie in Puglia began their transformation in charming and touristic places in the latest 900’ when the firsts abandoned masserie started to be refurnished. This change has increased in the last years. The number of refurnished masserie is, as a matter of fact, growing year after year, allowing always more tourists visiting puglia for holidays. Masserie in Puglia are now famous all over the world for their deep tradition, their style and charme. Another important characteristics of the Puglia regions are its dry stone walls called in Italian “ Muretti a secco. On 28 November 2018 Italy and Puglia with its countless dry stone walls have won a prestigious worldwide recognition. Unesco in fact, has entered, "THE ART OF DRY WALLS" in the list of intangible elements declared heritage of humanity. This "art" represents one of the first examples of human manufacturing both for residential purposes like the Trulli and for purposes related to agriculture and in particular to the terracing necessary for crops in the steep area. This particular technique, present in the south of Italy, concerns stone building by massing stones on top of each other without the use of glues and in perfect harmony with the environment. Examples of dry stone walls are present in the Valle d'Itria, an area that includes the city of Ostuni, Locorotondo, Martina Franca and Alberobello. https://www.apulianestates.com/en/blog/14-i-muretti-a-secco-pugliesi-diventano-patrimonio-dell-umanit%C3%A0-unesco.html This fact of the drystone walls, stone arches, could be a hint for the label..used of an image of stones, mosaic with shiny serigraphy…. Here we have picked ten top localities for you where to start your discovery of the region: 1. Lecce: an art city and Baroque jewel, a real open air museum scattered with outstanding masterpieces and landmarks 2. Gargano: the “spur of the Italian boot” is a promontory of pristine wilderness and wonderful beaches, charming villages, olive and citrus groves 3. Alberobello and Itria Valley: among mild elevations and centuries-old olive trees, this is the valley of trulli and quaint villages like Alberobello, Locorotondo, Cisternino and Martina Franca 4. Ostuni: it’s called “White City” due to its historical center of whitewashed houses, a true sight for the eyes 5. Tremiti Islands: the only archipelago in the region, comprises five islands in a nature reserve with a sea that is a paradise for diving 6. Torre Guaceto Nature Reserve: a natural oasis and protected sea area, is a valuable ecosystem where many animal species live 7. Castel del Monte: built by the Emperor Frederick II in the XIII century, is internationally renowned because of its peculiar octagonal plan and is the region’s most visited monument 8. Castellana Caves: a 3-kilometer group of underground caves, they are considered the most spectacular in Italy 9. Salento: a charming land with a unique history and traditions, among masserie and white sand beaches with crystal-clear waters (no coincidence called “the Maldives of Italy”) 10. Polignano a Mare: clinging on a rocky cliff overlooking the Adriatic Sea, it is a holiday resort much appreciated also for its sea caves and Roman remains. If you think of Apulia first of all you think of trulli, the typical dry stone huts with conical roof of the Apulia’s countryside you find scattered all over the central and southern part of the region. Trulli are widespread in the Itria Valley and in the Murge and especially in Alberobello, whose entire historic center is made up of trulli: since 1996 the Trulli of Alberobello are Unesco’s World Heritage Site. Another emblematic place of Apulia is Castel Del Monte, a XIII century fortress not far from Andria, also enlisted in the Unesco's world heritage patrimony, as well as the Sanctuary of San Michele Arcangelo, a pilgrimage site in the province of Foggia, and the Foresta Umbra Nature Reserve, in the Gargano promontory. Other uncontested symbols of the region are its dry stone walls, very common in Salento and Itria Valley, and its invaluable hundred- and thousand-year old olive trees, that produce a top end oil, Apulia’s true “gold”. Our idea is to focus on the name with a eye-catching image. The right font, colour and stamping technique must catch the customer and have great impact on shelf. We are open to receive your ideas in terms of image to be on the label. Create very elegant and eye catching concept with minimal use of elements. This label has simple, clear. There is a chance to Add another red wine to this range so we need to be able to distinguish the 2 wines. Label shape: free hand in creating your visual image and design concept for our brand. We would prepare a label with top side 80 mm, botton side 75mm and height 100mm Label colour: we prefer black matt label…with shiny serigraphy elements…etc… Package: Tasteful. Stylish. The glass bottle will be a 650 grams Premium Bordeaux shape with conical shoulder. It will be cork-finished using black tin capsules. Labels will be produced as pressure sensitive and may include gold, foil, stamping or embossing as included in the design. Label colour is free, we prefer opaque black. The Project: Design a front wine label artwork to best capture the brand essence while resonating with the target consumer described above. The impact of the label needs to be quality-focused emphasizing wine quality frequently discovered in wines priced $15.00 more. We have intentionally left the canvas blank to allow designers a free hand in creating their visual image and design concept for our brand. Thank you for your creative input and interest. We would like to receive the label design in the following file type: • Initial and review copies as pdf/jpg files. • Final copy will need to be in Adobe Illustrator files, and PSD plus say jpeg/gif • We require the design to be handed over in a format that can accommodate ongoing changes so that label printers can periodically change such things as Variety, Region, Vintage, alcohol contents etc , as these change with each production run.
