The business will sell a direct to consumer digital insurance product (an insurance policy will be purchased on-line on our website that's being built) for residential rent default - the 21m landlords controlling 43m rental units in the US are the target purchaser. In short, it takes a landlord on average 5 months to legally evict a defaulting tenant and roughly 3 months to find a new tenant in the event of abandonment. In both instances, the landlord still has to pay the bank the mortgage - the pain point. This product would help the landlord recoup up to 6 months of lost rental income and with respect to an eviction pay them a $1,000 of legal expense to go through that process. Average annual premium is roughly $300 and that can be passed along to the tenant or taken as a tax deduction.
