Who are you known as?
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
We are an urban farm in the Sonoran desert region. We provide educational opportunities to those who want to learn how to garden in the desert and homesteading skills. We focus on heirlooms and open pollinated plants. Our farm is the backyard of an almost fourth of an acre residential plot. The food we grow supplements our food supply so our outreach to the public focuses on providing educational opportunities to adults and children who want to learn about extreme gardening in the Sonoran desert.
The Sonoran Desert, our backyard. These are the adventures of the farmers at AZ Caretaker. Our mission: 1) to implement urban farming in the Sonoran desert, 2) to pursue homesteading skills, and 3) to investigate the world of plants.
Target audience: people who want to learn how to garden in the desert whether they are new to gardening or have moved to the area and are trying to figure out how to garden in the desert climate. Also those who are interested in learning homesteading skills. Especially those who want to learn to use what they grow.
