donhansen344 got their new social media page by running a design contest:
Design a Youtube banner for a podcast channel giving candid advice for aspiring web developers
Check out donhansen344's Social media page contest…
Honestly, I'm pretty open. I'll include an image of my current Youtube banner and explain my color choices, but I'm really open to very different designs from designers that know more about branding than I do. Also, the images of people DO NOT need to be included like they are in my current Youtube banner. I was just trying to fill space for the most part. I'll include a link of an upcoming website design that I'm still tinkering with that influenced the color choices. Color scheme is not final though - just where I'm leaning towards right now. My Youtube channel is about giving people candid and honest advice on how to become web developers. My value proposition on all of my social media platforms is “here to offer no-BS advice for aspiring web developers”. My podcast episodes challenge coding bootcamps, self-paced programs, and CS degrees and expose them for falling short. I do this by inviting guests onto my podcast that graduated from these programs and getting all of the pros and cons from their experiences. I went with the dark orange/red highlight color with the gray background, because it seemed to be a color scheme that resembled the rebel brand archetype very well. That’s how I see myself in the software engineering industry, or at least trying to position myself as. My entire channel revolves around inviting people on, getting their honest and candid reviews, and highlighting that advice to aspiring developers - even if it upsets some people. If you have a different color scheme in mind, please feel free to go with what you think is best. Include DONTHEDEVELOPER or DonTheDeveloper (the name of my channel) if you see fit. It's not required though. Feel free to check out my channel for any other ideas: https://youtube.com/donthedeveloper
"no-BS advice for aspiring web developers" - I included "here to offer" before that slogan, but feel free to change that to something that better fits the design. Word the following how you see fit. I'd just like it to be known what happens every Monday and Friday: "New podcast episodes every Monday" "Live Q&A's every Friday" I include a link in the Youtube links called "1 on 1 Mentorship". If you can somehow point or highlight that in the Youtube banner, that'd be preferred.
