PLEASE READ THROUGH ALL OF THE COMMENTS IN THE ONGOING CONTEST BEFORE SUBMITTING A NEW DESIGN!  THANKS! Like our logo, the visual style should be somewhat playful, while remaining very professional (not cartoonish). The look should be modern, fresh, and laid back rather than overly formal or hard. The color scheme should work with the color palette of our existing logo. Stock photography can be used if it is original or owned by the designer and exclusive rights of use will be transferred to WoodRight by the winning designer at the end of the contest. We will do our best to provide prompt feedback to your questions and designs so feel free to ask for more information if needed. Once we see that we are getting enough quality submissions, we will guarantee the contest. Please let us know if you prefer a blind contest and we will consider it. Thanks and good luck! One thing I would like to incorporate into the design is a couple of architectural scales along the edges of the card so that architects could actually use our business card to quickly measure something on a set of blueprints in a pinch.  This would have to be scaled exactly so that it measures accurately.  The most commonly used scales are (in order of preference for inclusion) 1/8" & 1/4", 1/2" & 1", 3/8" & 3/4". (http://www.geionline.com/how-to-use) (http://www.cabindesignandbuilding.c) Another idea is to somehow incorporate the concept of the high natural character wood that we use (plenty of knots, mineral streaks, color variation, etc.).  Just be sure that it looks modern and clean, rather than too rustic or folksy.  It may be as simple as incorporating the look of wear and tear on the card. Expanding an abstract concept of the check mark (over the "i" in "WoodRight") is also a possibility.  Just be sure that it doesn't look like the Nike "Swoosh"! Feel free to submit non-traditionally rectangular cards or creative shapes, cutouts, etc.
