Need clean looking template .. Web 2 style ... for popular dog web site
Desired Color Scheme:
To complement new logo
Desired Style:
fresh web 2 look
Accepted File Formats:
PSD with full layers etc
New site template required to suit new logo (designed by Intrepidguppy) (you can download logo PSD file at http://www.dogzonline.com.au/dogzonlinepsd.zip ).
The web site showcases pure breed dogs and we believe the logo is fantastic at representing that. The new template should complement it.
Site should generally follow these guidelines as to what I am looking for from the design http://www.webdesignfromscratch.com…-style.cfm
Design needs to be simple, fast loading and light. (though I don't want it to be too bland or so simple that it looks like Google). Should have white background (at least in the main text section) ... maybe a gradient for the rest (that fades into white) if you go in that direction. The design should have lots of white space.
I DON'T like dark templates. Dark is OK to be used in highlighting to give it more colour if required (eg headers on the feature boxes).
Web 2 tableless style required.
Need 3 pages done ... home page and 2 content pages. There shouldn't be a lot of difference between the 3 pages. The reason why I want 3 pages done is so I get a feel of what each page will look like with the different sections. The header/footer etc should be the same across the site regardless of where you are ... the only thing to differentiate the home page from the others will be the content.
(It is probably best to only do one page to start with unless I like the design and want to see how the other pages will look. That way you won't waste your time if you are completely off track).
You can see the current homepage at http://www.dogzonline.com.au
You can see a content page that I would like to see at http://www.dogzonline.com.au/breeds…riever.asp
The other content page is at http://www.dogzonline.com.au/breeds…riever.asp
(I know the current site is not be the best design wise, but that is what you guys are here to hopefully fix :) )
I would like the main content from those pages included so I can see what it would look like (no need to include taglines like "We now have over 8000 dog profiles on our site!" and "Your All Australian Dog Supersite" etc).
There can be some sort of image in the header area if you think it requires it (maybe some breeds of dogs) but I don't want to influence you so will leave it to you. If you are to have breeds of dogs though, it would be good to choose maybe a breed from each of the 7 groups (see http://www.ankc.aust.com) and have a collage or something. You may have other better ideas.
Would be good to include a mock form as well so I can see the buttons etc.
A advertising banner (up to 550px) needs to be up the top somewhere (probably close to where it is now).
The navigation needs to be on the left of the page and be flexible enough to be able to add more links in the future.
We are also starting a site in New Zealand (Dogz Online NZ) and the United Kingdom (Dogz Online UK), so the site needs to have somewhere where it links to those other sites (maybe up the top somewhere) so you can easily go to another country's site from whatever page you are on. I was thinking have their flag or something beside the link?
Whilst I won't rule it out totally, I am not really wanting to see paw prints, cute dog icons, bones etc (the usual dog stuff) as part of the design.
That's about it .... looking forward to your submissions.
