The home page: the home/main page should be simple and clean. This page should immediately alert the visitor to our key values: protect, change and nurture. The visitor should immediately recognize that Synergie is a skincare and makeup company (primarily skincare). This should be aided (if not completed) via images (minimal text).
Based on the existing site, the content (tabs headings) should remain similar however free range is given to the designer when dealing with layout and general design. The aim is a white-grey background, and we'd like the designer to take inspiration from cross sections of skin (see attached images).
Synergie prides itself on the highest quality, scientifically formulated skincare and makeup products with a synergistic blend of natural and laboratory influences.
Synergie's products must:
- Protect the skin from harsh environmental conditions such as UVA and UVB
- Provide visible change to the skin
- Nurture the skin and be free of potential toxins and irritants
Terri Vinson, the founder, formulator and managing director is passionate about making women feel better about themselves and their skin. She actively engages in education via Facebook, YouTube videos, skincare conferences and magazine articles. The main/home page must include one of these educational videos (at this stage it should be the ‘Protect Change Nurture’ video on YouTube however this will be replaced with a new one in the coming months originating from Vimeo).
The product images on the website can be used for this design however they will be updated (and on a white background) in the coming months. Please ensure the white background of the product images will blend with the site’s grey-white background, or the product images will look clean and professional on the background i.e. clean edges (see example website).
The site content includes a page of compiled images (products tab), compiled videos (videos tab), a blog of posts from Terri Vinson (blog tab), compiled .pdf pages of articles (media tab), a map and list of stockists 'where to buy' tab (this would possibly be done with a widget?), and a page with Synergie's contact details 'contact' tab - see existing website for reference.
We'd like the tabs (though the content remains the same), to be more user friendly. In particular, the 'products' tab. When the mouse hovers over this tab, the ranges 'Synergie Skin' 'Synergie Practitioner' and 'Synergie Minerals' should drop down.
We'd also like links to our Facebook page consistently somewhere on each page.
Please note: there are more than 5 pages to this website however each of the pages will be similar in design therefore, the remainder of the job will be very straight forward. The content is already written (see existing website).
In regards to this competition, the designer may choose which 5 pages he/she would like to design but the layout and design should be totally consistent with the home/main page.
I am familiar with Wordpress and so it is essential that this layout is compatible with Wordpress and applied to the current self-hosting and domain name. I will be maintaining the website, we just need an artist to redesign it.
