ruthannebrewer got their new web page design by running a design contest:
Create a website for a special needs educational subscription website targeted towards busy moms
Check out ruthannebrewer's Web page design contest…
We sell monthly educational/recreational subscription boxes directed to children and young adults with special needs....our target audience is busy moms with children and young adults with special needs.
I want the site to be crisp, easy to use, not cluttered but also modern and youthful. See websites like kiwicrate.com and misformonster.com The icons and graphics will need to be large enough to view by the parents who might also have visual impairments. We would also prefer to stay away from the use of stock photos or imagery.
Home Page (Page 1) - This page would be very simple and would describe the programming similar to the sites I listed. I would like to see the 3 levels at the top of the landing page with the logo in the left hand side of the page. Followed by a Why Special Montessori section and How to Use/Subscribe. There should be a login and cart toggle in the upper right as on most pages.(See http://www.montessoribymom.com/) *** the login page would link to the payment software I presume? They need to be able to cancel subscriptions and change address information etc. They also need to be able to suspend the subscriptions. Subscription Page (Page 2) - this is determined by the payment software used I think. See the listed websites for the ease of use in signing up. Shop page (page 3) - this will look like the Kiwi shop page. About (Page 4) - this would be short and crisp. This would be an introductory page. (We currently do not have a lot of content for this page but it will be coming soon) Contact Us (Page 5): This needs to be an interface like M is for Monster. (We currently do not have a lot of content for this page but it will be coming soon)
What to avoid
No stock photos or imagery
We currently have a logo and are open to a change in colors or playing with various colors for the website. The logo is a teacher with the box in her hand and you can tell she is ready to teach and play!
