jacqui C got their new web page design by running a design contest:
High End Website for International College Counseling & Test Prep Company
Check out jacqui C's Web page design contest…
A test-prep expert and a college counselor created a place to reduce the anxiety of the prep school and college admission process. A place where counselors and tutors work together to customize and integrate academic support, test prep (SAT, ACT, SAT subject tests, AP, IB, ISEE, SSAT, COOP, TOEFL, GRE, LSAT, GMAT, MCAT), English as a second language, college and prep school lists, and essays and applications (prep, college, and graduate). A place (FlexSchool) where divergent thinkers can learn to love school again. Ivy Ed is that place. Our target market is parents and students, primarily in high school. We are expensive, but not the most expensive. I don't want to look anything like a franchise!
We need to modernize our look and make the user interface more friendly. We would also consider modernizing our logo if that is necessary for a design but that is not our intent. The new site has to look warm, trustworthy, and calming, but students like coming to see our tutors so it should look like fun! We need to keep the logo, or a modern version of it. We will have a video on the homepage and on the founders' page. Otherwise photos and text. A few charts. There are many tabs so they might have to run down the side. We have an inactive blog we would like to reactivate so if there is a way to get that on the homepage too it would be great. We are leaving the colors open, though at least one should relate to/compliment a color in the logo. No flash. Has to read on tablets and smartphones. Our biggest issue has been organizing a lot of information and a lot of different services. Simplifying is key.
We need a homepage that can then be adapted for interior pages. A concept and a navigation structure. See description above: video, navigation bar, blog.
What to avoid
We are a high end company. Bright colors are fine, but it has to make us look intelligent to parents all over the world. We are an independent company, and we do not plan to franchise.
Thank you for accepting this challenge! We hope you will design a site that would make you want to see us or send your children to us.
