Based on the initial designs that are coming back, I think I've missed communicating one key part of this.
This design is a blog design with some creative navigation mixed in. Most of what has been submitted so far is a navigation page that has a link to a blog. Which is sort of in reverse of what we're looking for.
One additional note to try to help, the colors of the logo are very strong. I dont think it looks good to that have them heavily prevalent in the rest of the design. It makes it look we're a) A coffee company b) An african rebel group in the congo :-)
I think it makes sense to creatives work in some "ideas" around the brand. But using those colors throughout doesnt. The logo on a white background looks a lot better.
Hope this helps!!
Runs On Coffee is the name of a new Business Consulting & Mentoring brand that myself and 2 other associates are launching. Our group has been a part of a number of .com start-ups through the years; involving numerous all-nighters, countless hours of working at coffee shops around the world, and an overall drive to "create".
Our target demo of people who will visit this website, are fellow entrepreneurs and/or aspiring entrepreneurs who possess that same drive and are motivated by being a part of a "start-up" and just the overall spirit of entrepreneurialism.
To start, the website will be a blog & entry point to a podcast. So there will not be much of the typical "About us" "Contact us" type of things that I find rather "templated".
I would like to really avoid a traditional navigation bar all together. We do need a way built into the layout to access the Podcast archives (a page that will be built out later). And we do need an access point to some type of "Meet The Team" section which will at least introduce who the voices of the blog and podcast are. The design itself is around a blog that will run on a Word Press backend.
Beyond that, this is a blank canvas, with a primary purpose of capturing the user's attention, capturing the spirit of the brand, and getting right into the quality content we will be producing.
The end goal of this site is to gain a following of other like-minded entrepreneurs so that we can establish contact with them, learn about their businesses, and ultimately either consult or invest in the ones we feel are the strongest.
