The Suppers Programs needs a new website design

The purpose of our website is to give people virtual access to real experiences. Real experiences are the essence of The Suppers Programs. The Suppers Programs, a 501(c)3, is a free-to-users support network for people who want more vibrant health but who are having a difficult time making the transition without support. The program's four core principles are the active practice of non-judgment, whole food preparation, restoration of family tables and the strict adherence to no commercial messages. The feel of our website should reflect these values. Our motto is "Cook, Taste and FEEL Your Way to Vibrant Health." Visitors to this site will be: people who are considering joining this program; current members who are looking for our literature, recipes or our calendar of meetings; facilitators looking for literature or recipes; mental health professionals and physicians hoping to learn about the program; community partners/sponsors hoping to learn about the program; businesses and individuals considering making a contribution to the program; human resources professionals thinking about bringing the program into their workplaces; and people using keywords to search, for example “nutrition and alcoholism,” “nutrition and diabetes,” “cooking classes and diabetes,” etc. Here is preliminary copy for our site's future home page (to provide you with a greater understanding of the program): "Welcome! This is your virtual portal to real experience in the Suppers Programs. Our destination: your logical miracle. A logical miracle is a natural outcome that you can expect when your needs are met for nourishing food, social support, and a safe place to experiment and self-observe while you change unhealthy habits. Suppers provides learn-by-doing programs for people who want more vibrant health. We run meetings in central NJ where people cook together, eat together, learn together and taste and feel their way to vibrant health using whole food. There are vegan, vegetarian and omnivore meetings. Our starting assumption is that if you eat in a way that normalizes blood sugar and mood chemistry, you will also resolve most other diet-related health challenges. Logical miracles happen every day when people trust that how you feel is DATA! In other words, by working this free-to-users program (you just share the cost of making the meal), you can prevent, manage, and/or reverse diet-driven problems like depression, anxiety, learning issues, obesity, diabetes and problems with alcohol. Let Suppers help you dispel your myths that healthy eating is expensive, too time-consuming and depriving. You’ll find out how when join us for Suppers."

We lean toward simplicity and clarity, and would like the site to feel organized and clean. We would like the site to gravitate to the colors of fresh produce. We don't feel attached to a particular font. The site should elicit feelings of support and camaraderie, of healthfulness and healing, and of the strong connection between body-mind-spirit. To help get across these concepts, there ought to be images of real people cooking, eating, testing blood sugar, writing in journals, testing pH, and sharing their personal journeys from the heart.

We would like a subpage designed. The subpage should be a recipe from our Recipes section. One side bar can include 2nd level navigation links, upcoming events and a donate button. A second sidebar should include a link to the latest blog post, the program's most recently published book, and the most recently posted new recipe. The bottom of the page should display the website's site map. (The subpage would also show the website's main sections - About Suppers, Program, Recipes, News & Events, etc ... as outlined in PDF file attached.)

Anything flashy or gimmicky, busy or confusing.

While it’s important to somehow incorporate the Suppers logo (plate/fork/spoon image) from the brochure, we don't insist on it being purple. Most of our current membership are in their 50s, 60s and 70s. We will be doing more for younger people such as adding social media. The site should be easy to navigate for the people with limited experience while also reaching and appealing to the younger.
