npgroup got their new web page design by running a design contest:
Video Aggregator Design
Check out npgroup's Web page design contest…
I need a layout for a video aggregation site. Ie, we'll be putting up videos from around the internet and managing them for our audience.
What's your vision?
Desired Color Scheme: Dark blues or dark reds.. Lets try that first. Desired Style: Web 2.0, clean, clear. Accepted File Formats: .psd .jpg The site will be named "BreakingNewsClips" and it will be a companion site to www.breakingnewsgames.com/index.php The site really only needs two pages, a homepage and a video clip page. Here is what the components should be: Homepage: Video Player for a featured clip, use a youtube embed as a size reference. On the right of the player, a 300*250 advertisement. Underneath both items should be a tabbed area, with tabs being Recent, Popular, Rating. Inside should be a TEXT LIST of clip headlines. Player Page: Player as above with ad on right side, 300*250. Under player have an area for information about the clip as well as digg, etc links (the small icons please). Under info box have a user comment box and list comments by users on this clip. On the right of these two items, have a tabbed box like in the above mockup for Recent, Popular, Rating. Since this is a companion site of www.breakingnewsgames.com/index.php, there can be similarities, but I want it to convey the idea of breaking news, constantly changing, etc.
