siz got their new web page design by running a design contest:
Website for Land Speed Record Attempt
Check out siz's Web page design contest…
Our client has set himself a challenge to break a Land Speed Record in a jet powered car which is being custom designed. This is potentially going to be a high profile site and therefore needs to appeal to its target audience. Ideally the website should portray high speed, challenge, man & machine. Refer http://jetblack.webz.co.nz for the logo and an image of the car. Although the brand name is Jetblack, the website does not necessarily have to incorporate too much black.
What's your vision?
Please design a home page for this site which needs to incorporate an element of speed. Main menu: Home Updates The Challenge The Car The Team Media Merchandise Sponsors Contact Supporters Club – to be differentiated slightly from other menu items Some additional features for the site include: Forum and other interactive tools such as possibly a flash game/competition/news feeds/voting/subscriptions. The site will incorporate some 3D modeling. Sites we like are: http://www.williamsf1.com/car Vodafone McLaren Mercedes - The Official Website Reference sites for land speed type content: www.thrustssc.com www.aussieinvader.com www.landspeed.com Some of the brand perceptions include: high speed, challenge, national pride, New Zealand spirit, awe inspiring, bravery, danger, man & machine, spirit of adventure. These have been incorporated into the logo.
- The client is VERY impressed by the design of the Williams Formula One site mentioned above - The site may potentially have hundreds of pages (so expandable sub menus will need to be allowed for in the site design) - Clean, professional and dynamic look and feel. - Simple but effective colour scheme (professional) - Depth in terms of menu’s and headers - Site must be interesting and enjoyable to return to but in a serious way; Think Formula 1
